Burghley Park Golf Club Greenkeepers Blog

A new blog showing the BPGC staff and their work.

Simon hand mowing the 18th green.

A polite notice that bunkers should be raked after playing out of them not everyone does and we would hate for someone to land in a badly raked bunker!!

Simons creation for Lady captains day a flower on the 5th fairway which was used as a nearest the flower in 2 competition.

Hand mowing greens is one of the best jobs in greenkeeping, not only does it keep you fit but the greens look fantastic when finished.

We did a recent early morning project, putting a golf ball on every badly or unrepaired pitchmark on the 3rd green there are 450 golf balls in this picture and thats only because we ran out!! A badly or unrepaired pitchmark can take several weeks to recover where as a properly repaired one can take less than a week to fully recover.
